What can I expect as a student when I come to Woodstock Road Baptist Church?
At Woody Road it’s our desire to integrate students fully into the life of the church. We’re a mixed congregation of different ages and backgrounds and we want students to be right at the heart of that. Students at Woody Rd often join Thursday evening homegroups held at different houses around the city and get involved with serving in the church. Many students really appreciate this opportunity to get to know Christians in Oxford outside the student ‘bubble’.
Nevertheless, we also want to give space for students and young adults to get to know each other and to explore topics that may be of particular relevance to them. We meet as a group of students and young adults after the evening service on alternate Sundays during term time (8-9:15pm). At these ‘Student Gatherings’ we share a meal together, pray for one another and consider how knowing Jesus makes a difference to life as a young adult in Oxford. Whether an undergraduate, postgraduate or young adult not at university, you are more than welcome to join us!
Our provisional topics for the coming term are:
14th October Welcome! – Vision for 2018/19
28th October What is the Church?
11th November As Christians, what does it mean to live distinctively
25th November What’s so important about grace?
