Woodstock Road Baptist Church has stood on the corner of the Woodstock Road and Beech Croft Road for about 120 years and has seen many changes happen around it. We are a group of people, though, who have been transformed by an unchanging message that ripples down the centuries- of a God who made us in His image for relationship with Him, of a God who loved us enough to give us His own Son despite our rejection of Him, of a God who promises eternal life to those who trust in Jesus His Son who is risen from the dead and of a God who is preparing a new creation for those who love Him. You can read more about what we believe here.
We meet each Sunday at 10:30am (this service has a crèche and Sunday School available) and 1:30pm. Our services for the next month are listed on our Sunday services page
You do not have to be a Christian to join us on a Sunday or to come to any of our other activities. We welcome those who are wanting to explore Christianity. From time to time, we run groups and courses for those interested in finding out more about Christianity.
Although we are an independent church we enjoy fellowship with other churches though the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and South Central Gospel Partnership. In September 2003 WRBC planted Marston Neighbourhood Church. In 2017 we launched our Bold Gospel Vision seeking to reach other neighbourhoods including starting Grace Church Kidlington
Our vision is to bring together people from a variety of backgrounds, generations and nationalities to show the uniting power of the message of Jesus.
Each year we have a vision statement which summarises our focus for the next twelve months. This year our vision statement is based around Philippians 2:5 “ In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus…”
We also convinced that it is right to share the good news about Jesus here in Oxford, throughout our country and overseas. To this end we support several missionaries working both in the UK and abroad. A list of organisations we support can be found here.
